Statement of Faith

1. The Bible

We believe that the Holy Bible is the inspired, infallible, and authoritative Word of God. It is the final authority in all matters of faith and practice. (2 Timothy 3:16-17; 2 Peter 1:20-21)

2. God

We believe in one God, eternally existing in three Persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. These three are co-equal and co-eternal. (Deuteronomy 6:4; Matthew 28:19; 2 Corinthians 13:14)

3. Jesus Christ

We believe in the deity of Jesus Christ, His virgin birth, sinless life, atoning death on the cross, bodily resurrection, ascension to the right hand of the Father, and His personal return in power and glory. (John 1:1-4; Matthew 1:18-25; 1 Corinthians 15:3-4; Acts 1:9-11; Hebrews 4:14-15)

4. Salvation and the Lordship of Christ

We believe that salvation is a gift from God, given by grace and received through faith in Jesus Christ. It is not of works, so no one can boast. True faith involves acknowledging Jesus Christ as Lord, submitting to His authority, and following Him in obedience. All who repent of their sins, believe in Christ as both Savior and Lord, and submit to His Lordship are born again by the Holy Spirit, justified, and adopted into the family of God. (Ephesians 2:8-9; Romans 10:9-10; 2 Corinthians 5:17; Philippians 2:9-11)

5. The Church

We believe that the church is the body of Christ, composed of all born-again believers, and that the local church is an autonomous body governed by the Word of God. The church is called to fulfill the Great Commission, to worship, and to nurture believers. (Matthew 28:19-20; Acts 2:41-42; 1 Corinthians 12:12-14; Ephesians 1:22-23)

6. Baptism and the Lord’s Supper

We believe that Christian baptism is the immersion of a believer in water, symbolizing the believer’s faith in the crucified, buried, and risen Savior. The Lord’s Supper is a memorial of Christ’s death and a celebration of His resurrection, observed by believers until He returns. (Matthew 28:19; Romans 6:3-4; 1 Corinthians 11:23-26)

7. Marriage and Family

We believe that marriage is a sacred institution ordained by God, and is defined as the covenantal union between one man and one woman. It is within this union that God intends the sexual relationship to be enjoyed, and it is the foundation of the family. (Genesis 2:24; Matthew 19:4-6; Ephesians 5:31-33)

8. Gender and Human Sexuality

We believe that God wonderfully and immutably creates each person as male or female, and these two distinct, complementary genders together reflect the image and nature of God. Rejection of one’s biological sex is a rejection of the image of God within that person. (Genesis 1:26-27; Psalm 139:13-14)

9. Sanctity of Life

We believe that all human life is sacred and created by God in His image. Life is of inestimable worth in all its dimensions, including pre-born babies, the aged, the physically or mentally challenged, and every other stage or condition from conception through natural death. (Jeremiah 1:5; Psalm 139:13-16; Luke 1:41-44)

10. The Return of Christ

We believe in the personal, bodily return of Jesus Christ, who will come to judge the living and the dead, and to establish His eternal kingdom. Believers will be resurrected to eternal life, and unbelievers to eternal separation from God. (John 14:3; Acts 1:11; 1 Thessalonians 4:16-17; Revelation 20:11-15)
